The National Museum, and the manuscripts
A morning with the museum's thousand-year timeline, then the Culture House to see the vellum on which the sagas actually survive.

North to Borgarnes
The Settlement Centre's two exhibitions — the settlement itself, and Egil's Saga told room by room — and a night on the fjord.

Snorri Sturluson's farm, where the Prose Edda was written and its author was murdered in the cellar, and Europe's highest-flowing hot spring.

A farm of thirteen turf-walled rooms, lived in until 1947, then Hólar's cathedral seat and the Icelandic horse's own history museum.
