Inside a volcano
The hike across the Bláfjöll lava to Þríhnúkagígur and a cable lift 120 m down into the magma chamber, which has been empty for 4,000 years.

Snowmobiles on Langjökull
Up onto the ice cap by superjeep, an hour on snowmobiles across the plateau, and the man-made ice tunnel bored into it.

Canyons and the south coast
The Fimmvörðuháls lower trail past Skógafoss's twenty-six upper falls, then Reynisfjara and a guesthouse at Vík.

Kayaking the bergs
A sea kayak on the Heinabergslón lagoon among icebergs the size of vans, quieter and far emptier than Jökulsárlón.
