Day 1
Arrive in Oslo
In and straight to a hotel near the station, kit checked, and the route and weather windows talked through over dinner.

Day 2
North into the Jotunheimen
The train and bus up to a lodge at Gjendesheim, at the eastern end of Lake Gjende, with an afternoon leg-stretch.

Day 3
The Besseggen ridge
The boat up the lake and the classic walk back along the ridge, with green Gjende on one side and blue Bessvatnet 400 m below on the other.

Day 4
To Spiterstulen
West to a lodge at 1,100 m at the foot of Galdhøpiggen, with a short acclimatising walk up the Visdalen valley.

Day 5
Galdhøpiggen
1,400 m of ascent to the highest point in northern Europe, over rock and old snow, with the whole range visible from the top.

Day 6
A glacier crossing
Roped across the Styggebrean on the Glittertind side with a guide, crampons on, then down to a valley hut for the night.

Day 7
North to Lofoten
The long travel day — bus, train and flight — into Svolvær, and the road south-west to a rorbu cabin at Reine.

Reinebringen
1,566 sherpa-built steps to a ridge 448 m above the Reinefjord, which is the most photographed view in Norway and earns it.

Ryten and Kvalvika
Out to the Atlantic side for the Ryten plateau and the beach below it, reachable only on foot, with a swim for the brave.

Sea kayak and the Trollfjord
Kayaks among the fishing racks in the morning, then a fast boat into the Trollfjord — 100 m wide, with sea eagles overhead.

The flight out of Svolvær or Leknes and the connection through Oslo.
