Arrive at Malé
Met at Velana and taken by speedboat across North Malé atoll — thirty-five minutes — to a beach villa and a late lunch.

Day 2
The house reef
A guided snorkel over the drop-off with the resort's marine biologist to learn what you are looking at, and the rest of the day horizontal.

Day 3
Sandbank, and dolphins
Dropped on a bare sandbank for the morning with an umbrella and a cool box, then out on a dhoni at five for the spinner dolphins.

Day 4
Move over the water
Into an overwater villa with steps down into the lagoon, which is the point of the whole trip. Nothing else planned.

Day 5
Turtles at Banana Reef
A boat snorkel to one of the atoll's oldest protected reefs — overhangs, caves and green turtles — and an afternoon on the deck.

Day 6
A day of nothing at all
Kayaks and paddleboards come with the villa; a couples' massage is booked for four; dinner is on the beach with the tables in the sand.

Fly home
A last swim, then the speedboat back to Velana in time for the afternoon flight.
